Obituary
Wanda Lee (Millett) Schaab, age 86, passed away peacefully, while in hospice care at home, on May 28, 2024.
She was a coal miner’s daughter, known as “Peanut” who migrated to Cincinnati, Ohio as a teenager.
After finishing school, she met and married and gave birth to four children with William Millett, who preceded her in death in 1976. The Children Virgil “Bill” (Jackie), Linda (Bill) Dozier, Deborah (Fred) Bulger, and Michael (Angela) were all raised in Dayton, Ohio.
In 1977, Wanda met and married Carl Schaab who also had four children Karl (Leslie), Theresa (Craig) Trehan, Kathleen (Tom) Monbeck, and Louis. Together Carl and Wanda raised the minor children, who remained home until adulthood.
Wanda was a homemaker who nurtured her children and embraced her family, friends, and neighbors. The family moved to Princeton, NJ, and Chattanooga, TN. Wanda and Carl settled in The Villages, FL.
Wanda’s strong faith in the Lord and optimistic nature supported everyone she encountered along the way. She was active in church and community with Operation Shoebox and St. Vincent DePaul Society, neighborhood clubs, and golfing. She loved being with people, particularly her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Wanda’s motto was “Yes I Can” to any challenge in life and the response from those around her was “I love coming here, you give the best hugs”.
A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH on July 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm.

I'll miss our conversations sitting in the chair all snuggled up, the tech support calls to fix your pee pad (IPad), putting up the carolers the day after Thanksgiving and hearing you sing in the car. Whether it was the end of a phone call or a visit, you'd say "I loved you first." I would tell you it was a tie. Thank you loving me and letting me love you in return , Grandma. I loved you first.
We love & miss you so much!!!
Love you ,
Terri
