Obituary
Wanda Marie Minton of Orange City, Florida went home to the Good Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Born October 4, 1951 in Church Point, Louisiana she left the bayou for the beach to chase the sunshine. In her 70 years she filled her life with love, laughter and above all faith. Wanda was strong, full of grace and persistent. She made the best jambalaya; self-taught reclaiming furniture; had a green thumb and spent hours working in her yard; valued education, a good book and a great card; favored any body of water, whether she was watching the waves roll in or catching fish; and gave the best advice, whether you asked for it or not. Wanda loved to dance and sing with heart and soul. She would shop until she dropped and was the best deal finder this side of the Mississippi. And you better believe, Wanda never left the house without looking perfect from head to toe. Little Wanda was one-of-a-kind. She loved hard and deep, and boy did you feel it. She leaves behind her children (Jason and Nicole), six amazing grandchildren (Jaden, Toby, Bellamie, McCall, Ford and Nevin), her beloved partner of nearly twenty years (Rob), two brothers (Kenny and Gary), her soul sister (Joann), nieces and nephews, and so many wonderful friends.
There’s not a day that Mom, Nina, Wanda Bear, Sister, Aunt and Friend will not be missed. But as her 4-year old grandson said, “she’s still here.”
The family will hold a memorial service for Wanda on April 16th at 10:00 a.m. EST at Baldwin Brothers, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Lupus Foundation of America in Wanda’s honor.
Luke 23:43. And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
