Warner “Richard” Crosby
June 27, 1941 – February 7, 2022
Warner R. Crosby, 80, of Cape Coral died peacefully at Lee Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara (née Carle) Crosby, a son, Warner “Scottie” Crosby the 2nd and partner, Rosa Vega, and daughter, Wanda and her husband, Ray Singletary. Richard is also survived by five grandchildren: Tyreek, Treyvon, Taiwan of Cape Coral, Florida, Kara, Warner (Bino) Crosby the 3rd of Boston, Massachusetts, and one great grandchild, Elijah Edgerton of Richmond, Virginia.
Warner’s wonderful and generous life began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 27, 1941. He was the second son of Frank Crosby and Helen Outlar. Warner graduated from West Philadelphia High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduation, Warner joined the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He then went on to have a respected and distinguished career with the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company (now known as AT&T). In addition to his parents, Warner is predeceased in death by his sisters, Marion Crosby-Thompson, Velma Crosby-McCloud, and brother-in-law, Edward Carle.
Warner leaves to cherish his life his brother Frank Crosby and a host of nieces and nephews.Warner took pride in helping others in need and dedicated his life to supporting veterans both locally and abroad by contributing to various charitable causes. He was a decorated serviceman, man of distinction, and an animal lover.
