Obituary
Wendy Allison Hobart DeBiase was born July 20th, 1962 in Hagerstown MD, to Mildred Cook and George P. Hobart. Soon after, the family moved to Trumbull, CT where Wendy attended public schools, graduating from Trumbull High School, class of 1981.
Wendy loved attending Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon CT and served on the camp staff during the summer of 1979 working as a teacher of pottery. She made many dear friends there and always loved her Silver Lake memories.
After graduation, Wendy moved to New Haven, Connecticut, and worked as a pastry chef. She was an excellent cook and an artful, creative baker.
In 2000, Wendy moved to Livermore Falls, Maine to be near family. She worked at Hannaford Supermarket in Augusta as a baker and later at Motivational Services, Inc. as a caretaker for special needs adults.
Wendy had a passion for creating, and engaged in multiple crafts. These included jewelry making, beading, sewing, embroidery, and weaving. She had a gift for repurposing objects others would see as disposable and turning them into useful and artistic items. She also had a remarkable aptitude with spatial relations.
She loved being outdoors. Hiking in the woods, canoeing, and fishing were her favorite outdoor activities. She deeply loved all animals especially dogs. Among her dogs were Prince, a Welsh Corgi during childhood. Dusty, who spun like a whirling dervish, peaceful and gentle giant Buster; and Oreo, Elmo and Bartholomew.
After suffering from a debilitating disease, Wendy passed into her eternal rest on February 13, 2023. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff DeBiase, who attended to her with constant care and dedication throughout her illness. She is also survived by her sister Rev. Deborah Tate Breault, her nephew Eric C. Breault, of Falmouth, Maine and her beloved dog Bartholomew.
