Obituary
Wendy Jo Shepherd-Schwartz, 60, left her earthly home for the house of the Lord on November 25, 2017. She passed away surrounded by her loving family at Leesburg Hospital. She was born in Lake Station, IN to the late Jack and Shirley Shepherd. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree and had worked as a Medical Technician at Methodist Hospital for many years. After moving to Florida she continued her career at Hematology & Oncology. She loved the outdoors and that included motorcycle rides, RV trips and Kayak adventures all across the United States. She spent many years as a member of Orlando Warriors on Water and was loved by her teammates. Wendy, was the bravest, kindest, most giving person I ever knew. As an avid motorcycle rider she was part of two groups in The Villages that inspired her to get a motorcycle license and those groups were the Freewheelers and The Village Spyder Ryders. She never met a stranger that she was not kind to and will always be remembered for that. She is preceeded in death by her parents, grandparents and niece. She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate Hal Schwartz; children, Kara (Kevin), and Kali and (Nathan); grandchildren, Kinleigh and Zoey; siblings, Linda, Tracy (Jack), Bill (Kimm), Penny (Tom) along with many cherished friends, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at The Villages, Sea Breeze Regional Recreation Center, in The New Smyrna room on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 2-4 PM.
