Obituary
Heaven has one more loving and caring soul. Wendy Sue Devey (Yester) left behind all her pain and suffering on July 9th. Born September 25, 1954 to Todd and Vivienne Devey (deceased). She graduated Bethel Park H. S. And was a proud member of the band. Her musical talents included the piano, flute and piccolo. She acquired her B. S. In Hospital Administration from Penn State University. She accepted a position at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She soon developed many friends in various disciplines.
However, she felt something missing in her career. Her kind and loving nature had a need for an outlet. She accomplished her goal by getting further education as a Respiratory Therapist. She loved caring for her patients (always going beyond job expectations)! She often was requested by floor staff due to her expertise and caring manner.
Poor health forced Wendy into early retirement. However, she continued her lifelong caring for others by opening her heart and home to many people over the years. Her home became a safe harbor for neighboring kids, friends, and family. The neighborhood kids were a favorite for Wendy. Even though she never had her own children… she mothered many.
She married Ed Yester in 2010 (deceased). While together they supported each other and their developing artistic skills. Wendy found working at a friend’s art store very satisfying. So began a love of scrapbooking and organizing “Crops” that became legendary!!
Another life sojourn began when she joined her mother and sister in The Villages of Florida. The activities and clubs fit her life style. Her biggest pleasure was playing Bridge and the friends she met there.
Wendy leaves behind her sister Vivienne Ruth Reid (Donald); and her brother Michael Todd Devey. Also, two nephews Samuel Todd Reid and Michael Raymond Stiteler; great-nephews Samuel H. Reid, Liam W. Reid, and Michael Bennett Stiteler; and many friends. She will be greatly missed. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.
