Obituary
Werner Bloomfield, 78, of Tavares Florida, formerly of South Glens Falls, New York, passed away after a long illness at Advent Health Waterman in Tavares, FL on June 19, 2021.
Werner was the son of the late William and Eva (Karlson) Bloomfield. He was born on July 9, 1942 in Liepaja, Latvia.
As a young boy, Werner along with his parents and brothers, Eric and Paul, made the long journey from Germany to the United States and arrived through Ellis Island, New York. Werner and his family settled in Argyle, New York. He learned the English language, played on the high school football team, all while attending Argyle Central School graduating in the class of 1961.
Werner served in the United States Navy for four years as an aviation crewman and was stationed in Hawaii, California, and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
Werner married the love of his life, Carolyn Cecelia Frank on June 3, 1967 at Saint Mary’s Church in Hudson Falls, New York. They most recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Werner was a dedicated employee of Finch Pruyn (now Finch Paper). He began as a laborer, was promoted over the years, and eventually became a power plant manager until his retirement after 32 years of service.
Werner was a devoted father to his three children and worked to provide as much as he could for them. He was a dedicated and hard worker, and through perseverance he achieved the American dream for him and his family.
One of Werner’s favorite hobbies was making fine wood furniture. His skill, craftsmanship, and excellent quality was evident in his work. The pieces that he created will be forever cherished and passed down to his adoring family. He also enjoyed digital photography, gardening, watching the weather, was an avid history buff, and had an affinity for classic cars.
In addition to his parents, Werner was predeceased by his brother Paul Bloomfield.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bloomfield of Tavares, Florida; his daughter Amy Hawkins and her husband Jeffrey of Woodstock, Georgia; his son, Jon Bloomfield and his wife Bonnie Seabrooke of Atlanta, Georgia; his daughter, Sara France and her husband, Timothy France of Mays Landing, New Jersey; his brother, Eric Bloomfield and his wife Diane of Hamilton, New York; his grandchildren, Joshua Hawkins of Tampa, Florida; Serena and Cody Hawkins of Woodstock, Georgia; Dean Bloomfield of Tampa, Florida; Dana Bloomfield of State College, Pennsylvania; Thomas Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; and Cheyenne, Kyra, and Tobey France of Mays Landing, New Jersey; and his beloved dog, Sadie, who was always by his side.
Family and friends may call on Friday, June 25, 2021 between 11:00 AM and 12:00 Noon at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1350 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, Florida 32778, where Navy Military Honors will be rendered and services will be held at 12 Noon, Rev. Dr. George Thomas of Celebration Church, Leesburg, FL officiating.

Bill and I are so sorry to hear of Werner's passing. He was such a special guy. A great woodworker. He was always so welcoming and made you feel right at home when visiting. We know that his family will miss him and so will we. Life passes to quickly but the memories keep us going. Love to all, Bill and Judith
