Obituary
William Lewis Ault, age 77, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Willows in Oxford, Florida, with his wife by his side.
Bill was born July 4, 1942 to the late Lewis and Hazel (Shirley) Ault, in Cardington, Ohio. Bill moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the late 60’s, where he met his wife, Ruth, in 1974. They married in November of 1976 when they moved to Mount Dora.
Bill had a great sense of humor and loved helping others. He was a Route Salesman for Frito-Lay. When he retired, he worked part-time at Publix, for 10 years. Then, he volunteered at Waterman Hospital driving a golf cart! Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora and enjoyed being an usher for many years. He also was active in the Mount Dora Lions Club and had perfect attendance for over 19 years, as well as serving two terms as President. He was a Webelo Leader for his step-son, Rick. In 1990, he became a member of the Mount Dora Yacht Club and helped at the annual Sailing Regattas. In addition to helping others and the community, Bill enjoyed working outside in his yard and lakeside.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ruth, of Mount Dora; daughters, Lisa Roberts (Bruce) of West Virginia and Lori Ewing of Ohio; step-children, Kim Watts Brown (Scott) of North Carolina and Rick Douglas Watts (Leigh Ann) of Ocala, Florida; siblings, Shirley Groll (Bill), Ed (Kay), Jim (Jeri), Rick (Cathy) and Tina Kuenkele (Bill); grandchildren, Carlie Menson (Justin), Courtney Hagmaeir (Jake), Evan LaChance, Joshua Brown and Albert Watts; and 3 loving great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Saturday, August 10, at 4:30 PM, at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora, 439 E. 5th Avenue, Mount Dora, Florida. Reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.
