Obituary

Age 79, of Cincinnati, passed away on February 9, 2022. Born to William Frank and Elizabeth Barnickle he was brother to Rose, Helen, Erma, Irene, Evelyn, Clara, Charles and Carl.

In 1981, he married Barbara Jean Harry. Together, they raised three children, Deanna, James, and Julie. Barbara and Bill would have celebrated 41 years of marriage this July.

He is survived by his Grandchildren: Beth, Alex, Tristyn, Ava, Lily, Cohen and Kylee.

He enjoyed traveling and cruising. Barbara and Bill lived in The Villages, Florida for seven years.

Bill found joy in everything life had to offer. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, bowling, eating White Castles, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, watching Home Alone, and spending time with his dog, Keiko.

He was a hard worker and retired from Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation, Blue Ash, after 36 years of dedication.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a disabled Veteran.

You could count on him to fix anything, laugh and send a smile your way, and always ask that you drive safely home.

A small celebration of life will be from 10:00 am -11:30 am on Friday, February 25th at the Norman Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, 4522 Spring Grove Ave. Burial will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery. The family requests masks be worn for the celebration of life.

Bill, along with Barbara, was our travel companions for the last 35 years-at first with our kids and later with just the 4 of us. We enjoyed cruising and took our first cruise on October 2008 to Panama, Costa Rica and Belize. We all had terrific time and all of us, but mostly Bill enjoyed the food on board. Our last cruise in May 2014 was an adventure of a lifetime; We went on a land/Cruise package to Alaska. Bill and I especially liked the animals-the moose, bears, eagles and reindeers that were so plentiful. We had a total of 4 cruises together and had planned for 1 more in April 2023.
Jim and I will miss our traveling with Bill- Love you Bill.
