Obituary

Funeral Mass for William “Billy” Patrick Prosser, 19, New Smyrna Beach FL will be 3:00 PM Saturday October 5 at St Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church 4220 Saxon Drive New Smyrna Beach FL. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach. Committal will be at St John Baptiste Cemetery in Warren, RI. Billy is survived by his parents Patricia Socha, Larry (Laura) Prosser, brother Robert Prosser, sister Larisa Rosenberg, maternal grandparents Ernest and Elizabeth Socha, paternal grandparents Bruce Prosser and Ray and Jean McGinnis. Billy has requested memorial donations be made in his memory to his “home away from home”, Ronald McDonald House 211 East Grand Avenue Chicago IL 60611.

    Dave and I are so sorry to hear about Billy. He was such a delightful young man. We had the opportunity to sit and talk with him one day and we were both impressed with him. Pat, Robert, Larisa, and all of his friends and relatives will be in our prayers.

    I am so sorry for your loss. No parent should ever have to lose a child. Our loving Creator knows how hard this is on you. We are told at Ezekiel 18:32 “‘for I do not take any delight in the death of someone dying, is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord .” As you can see, He does not like death anymore than we do. It is not his will for us to die which is why He has given us the hope of everlasting life! (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Rev. 21:3, 4). As the God and Father of tender mercies, He wants you to find comfort in Him through prayer (2Cor 1:3).

    We are so sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I know you all did everything possible to make his life comfortable and engaging. Robert was such an amazing brother to Billy, and Mom, you were great!
    He is now at peace but we know you all have so many memories of a wonderful brother and son. Our prayers are with you at this difficult time.

    Billy really was such an amazing and strong spirit. He touched and inspired so many people. He will be greatly missed, and I feel lucky to have known such a young man.

    Billy was such an amazing spirit. Despite the medical difficulties he faced he was always eager to learn and work hard. He was always polite, kind and caring. I saw him just a few weeks ago walking by the school and it brought a smile to heart. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and our community. He will be greatly missed but his amazing spirit will continue to our lives.
