Obituary

William (Bill) Alfred Conti, Sr., 69, of Orlando, Florida, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 3, 2019, after a long, brave battle with cancer.  Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Anthony and Clara (Pelton) Conti.

Bill graduated from Phillip Schuyler High School and was an EMT for Onesquethaw Volunteer Fire Company in Feura Bush, New York.  He was a member of the Bethlehem Elks Lodge #2233.  Although a tragic accident in 1982 claimed the sight of his right eye, he persevered and never waivered.  After moving to Florida in 1985, Bill considered himself a Florida “native.”  He owned and operated a tavern, and years later, a retail pet store.  He had a great love for animals (his “girls”).  Bill was devoted to his family, giving his all to provide them with a comfortable and happy life.  He always made everyone laugh with his wacky sense of humor.  He was easy-going and cared about his fellow man, never hesitating to lend a hand to a stranger in need.

Bill was the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Hand) of Orlando; dear father of the late Daniel J. Conti of Orlando, William A. Conti, Jr. of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, and Amber M. Conti and her husband Jason Millspaugh of Orlando; dear grandfather of Ethan, Blake, Cristian, Cade, and Jake; great grandfather of Evelina Rae; and step grandfather of Kylie and Ava.

Memorial service and inurnment will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Orlando Memorial Gardens, 5264 Ingram Road, Apopka, Florida 32703.  Those wishing may make contributions to Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center, 3160 Southgate Commerce Boulevard, Suite 50, Orlando, Florida  32806.
