Obituary
Bill “Ducky” Duckworth, age 69, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
A private family service was held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Fort Myers, Florida.
Bill was born September 5, 1954 in Dover, New Jersey, a son of the late Elmer Duckworth and Clara, nee Sankovet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law John Mauretto and Bob Ewing, nephew Scott Warfield. And his best buddy, Jake “The Dawg”.
Surviving are his wife Vanessa, and children William J Duckworth (Nichole), Christina Duckworth, Michelle Gaddy, Josh Gray (Valerie), Jason Gray, Jessica Arthur. His siblings Donna Duckworth, Gail Mauretto, Bonnie Duckworth and his favorite and only brother Skip Duckworth (Sally). He was a proud pop-pop of Daisy, Daphne, Erik, AshleeAnn, Steven, Nathan, Raelynn, Rakim and Kira and his great grandchildren Xander, Thomas Jr. and Tucker and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was employed by M.Davis & Sons for 34 years and retired as a project manager.
He lived many years in North East, Maryland boating on the Chesapeake Bay. He enjoyed his retired life in Fort Myers Beach, Florida with his friends and family at Bayside Estates.
He was an avid boater, fisherman, hunter and classic car enthusiast.
Bill was a proud member of the VFW Auxiliary post 10097. The Sons of the American Legion post 274. Bayside Estates Men’s club. Bayside Estate Architectural Committee. He was also the Toastman for the VFW Sunday breakfast crew.
Bill is going to be greatly missed by family and friends.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Bill’s name to the VFW Post 10097 Fort Myers Beach, Florida to assist with the hurricane Ian recovery efforts of the post.
