William Stanley Dziobecki, MSGT USAF RET, of Mashpee MA and Venice FL, passed away quietly on March 25, 2021, 7:37pm which was his 88th Birthday, at his home in Venice.

William was born on March 25, 1933, in Albany NY, son to Rita (Hoffman) and William Dziobecki. He enlisted in the Air Force soon after graduating High School, where he was stationed to RAF Bentwaters in England and he met and married his wife Gwynneth Maude Cracknell in Felixstowe on December 11, 1954.  Serving in the Air Force for 22 Years, he was often stationed outside of the U.S., Europe in England and Turkey and also Asia in the Philippines and Thailand.  William was stationed at Koran RTAFB in Thailand, with his son Richard Dziobecki, from 1971-1972 during the Vietnam War.

William (aka Huggy Bill) who was loved by all that knew him, as many have said, was truly a man in a million. He was a world traveler, both with his USAF service and his passion for cruising during his retirement.

He is survived by his 3 children, Richard Dziobecki, Lindsay (Bob) Gosling and Rita (Ian) French, along with his grandchildren, Richard (Mark) Dziobecki, Robert (Michael) Dziobecki, Reyna Bergmans, Rita Barron, Laura Kenney, Hannah Young, Naomi Young, Carrie Williams, his 13 great grandchildren, Reece, Olive, Kayli, Aidan, Maddox, Lily, Emma, Paul, Evie, Jack, Blayne, Bryson, Braden and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Gwynneth.

A service will be held in Mashpee MA at a later arranged date, once the travel restrictions have been lifted between the US and UK, that will allow his daughter and family there to attend. Huggy’s ashes will then be scattered at the Nobska Lighthouse, where Gwynn’s are now.

Donations can be made in his honor to Boston Children’s Hospital online at Boston Children’s Hospital Trust.
