Obituary
William (Bill), Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. He loved to play golf and would go out every day if he could. You might find him after a game with the “over the hill gang” for a short stop at the Sandbar. He can claim three “holes in one” during his years of play. When he was younger, he was a fantastic bowler and probably could have gone “pro”. He was 86 years of age and lived in North Port, Florida. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Port Charlotte, Florida 23 years ago after he retired from Horsburgh & Scott in November of 1999. He began work there at the age of 17 and rode to the plant together with his Dad (Pappy) every morning before getting his own car. Bill began as a machinist and moved up to the Superintendent level training others on the various machines. He returned to the plant floor to work alongside the “guys” where he was so much happier and then retired as Traffic Manager celebrating 49 years of work there.
Bill married his wife of 65 years, Beverly Albertina Beal, in Cleveland Ohio in 1955 and she now resides with family in North Port, Florida.
Father of three daughters: LaurieAnn Evans, MaryAnn Evans, and JaneAnn (John C. (Chuck)) Carman all of North Port, Florida, and one son: William Harold John Evans of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Four grandchildren: Jennifer Carman, Cory (MacLean) Carman, Faith Evans and Peyton Evans and his sister Mrs. Zufelt (Kathleen) of Davenport, Florida. Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Elizabeth (Gustie) Evans, and his sister: Mrs. Ronald Matson (Helen) of Murphy, North Carolina
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would like donations to be made in William’s (Bill) name c/o Tidewell Hospice, 1158 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, Florida, 33952.
The good old days.
