Obituary

Bill Grau passed away at 80 years old on Thursday, May 28, 2020 in his home. A man loved by many, Bill was born in Racine, Wisconsin on October 28, 1939 and moved to Ormond Beach with his family when he was in 8th grade. After graduating from Seabreeze High School in 1957, Bill joined the Air Force in 1958 where he proudly served for the following 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his military service, Bill, his wife and four children moved back to Ormond Beach where he worked as lawn equipment salesman until retiring in 2006. As many know, he enjoyed making beef jerky and smoking cheese in his spare time.

Any condolences may be expressed on the website and are greatly appreciated.

We are so sorry to hear that Bill passed away. He was such a special person to everyone at Edgewater Mower (and his customers). He brightened any room he came into. We called him Papa Smurf because of his blue shirts. Our sympathy goes out to his family. RIP Bill

I was lucky enough to call him my grandfather, or as he liked to call himself "Grumps". To say I will miss him is an understatement. He was the best man I knew, and I am so grateful I got to spend most of my life with him. I wasn't ready to say goodbye and I wish I could turn back the clock to get just one more moment with him.
I love you Grandpa. I'm going to do everything I can to make you proud. I miss you so much!
