Obituary
William (Bill) Joseph Hanley (66) was called to be with the Lord on July 11, 2019. He was born on October 24, 1952 to the late Stacey Pankiw Hanley and George Philip Hanley in Detroit, Michigan. He was the second born of 3 siblings. His family moved during his childhood to various places in Ohio and Michigan.
He graduated from Rochester Adams High school in 1970 and enjoyed playing football. He married Christine Carol Schunk of Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1976. With their union of marriage, they had four children. He attended Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University after high school but put his education on hold, then resumed it in 1987 as a non-traditional student with young children. He completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Education at Eastern Michigan University in 1989 with the loving support of his family. After the completion of his education he pursued his dream of relocating to Orlando, Florida.
Bill worked various jobs in the oil and automotive industry. He was always good with his hands and a trained mechanic. He was an all-around handyman and nothing was ever broken long around his house because he would fix it himself. He often had his children help with his car repairs in the garage or with the house projects. He took great pride in his work and he taught his children that determined work ethic. He was a man of Catholic Faith and brought up his children in the way of the Lord. He enjoyed watching sports especially the Detroit Pistons, Nascar, University of Michigan and University of Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents Stacey Pankiw Hanley and George Philip Hanley formerly of Rochester Hills, Michigan.
He is survived by his siblings: Mary Hanley Machacek of Ann Arbor, Michigan and brother John Hanley of Dewitt, Michigan.
Children: Jennifer Hanley Dickerson of Rapid City, South Dakota, Stella Qaraeen of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, Keenan Hanley of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Audrey Kirkpatrick of Clinton, Iowa.
Grandchildren: Tyler Dickerson, Ashley Dickerson, Izzaldeen Qaraeen, Salahaldeen Qaraeen, Sarah Qaraeen and Dauod Qaraeen
As well as a host of other relatives and friends.
