William Henry “Bill” Butler 11/28/25 – 10/02/16
William Henry “Bill” Butler, aged 90, passed away peacefully October 2, 2016 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Bill was born to Arnold A. and Hazel Irwin Butler on November 28th, 1925 in Denton, Maryland. He was one of six children.For many years he lived in Newark, Delaware in a house he built with his own two hands. He raised two daughters, Betsy and Linda, there. In 1997 he moved to Daytona Beach where he lived for the rest of his days. He worked as a machinist for the National Vulcanized Fibre Company and retired from there after more than 30 years. Bill’s hobbies included duck decoy carving, fishing, golfing and vegetable gardening. He also enjoyed biking, playing board games and going out to eat. Bill was a good and kind man who always helped his neighbor. He leaves behind his companion of 28 years, Shirley C. Phillips. He is also survived by his daughter, Betsy, and Shirley’s children, Clark and Susan, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
