Edwards, William (Bill) Kenneth Jr.  Bill Edwards, 68, of New Smyrna Beach FL, passed away Monday April 2, 2012 after a brief courageous battle with ALS.  He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.  Bill was born in Washington DC September 19, 1943 and grew up in Arlington VA, and Catonsville MD before moving to Owings MD and settling in Chesapeake Beach MD.  His 31 year career spanned the telephone industry as a Systems Technician with C&P Telephone, AT&T, Bell Atlantic and Verizon.  After retiring, he passions included picture framing, boating, computers (gadgets), his 1950 Ford, gardening, scooters and cooking.  Bill and his wife moved to New Smyrna Beach FL from Chesapeake Beach MD in 2001 after vacationing there for 6 years. In New Smyrna Beach, Bill found his dream of a bar where “everyone knows your name” and excelled at NTN trivia with all of his “useless knowledge”.   Known to the NTN Nation as “Dizzy”, he rose to the top in Players Points, won free drinks for his fellow players, and put “Peanuts” on the map. Bill is survived by his loving family, wife Shirl (Haynes) , daughter Lisa (Mike) Crosby of Lothian MD, son William III, grandchildren Samantha, Jacob, Nicholas Crosby of Lothian MD, mother Earlene (Kitterman) of New Smyrna Beach FL, brother Don (Barbara) Edwards of Ocean City NJ, sisters Lynn (Bobby) Hayes of Mint Hill, NC, and Sue (Larry) Johnson of New Smyrna Beach FL,  father in law Walter Haynes of New Smyrna Beach, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.   He is also survived by many, many friends. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Baldwin Brothers,  1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, on Saturday May 12, 2012 2:00PM.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.     A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Baldwin Brothers,  1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, on Saturday May 12, 2012 2:00PM.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
