William (Bill) L. Conway, 82, of Orlando, Florida died March 12, 2013, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born, May 2, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1970. After his discharge he was employed by Prudential for 17 years, retiring in 1987. Years later he served as the President of the Fairways Homeowners Association.
In 2005 and 2006 he was the Grand Knight for Knights of Columbus 2112 and member of the 4th degree. During his retirement he managed the Knight of Columbus Bingo Hall for over 10 years. While managing the bingo hall he rebuilt and repaired over 800 computers, donating them to schools and the needy.
He was a friend and mentor to all. He was a man of unrestrained energy, one who loved a challenge. Whatever he was doing he gave 200% and was proud of his work, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Conway, daughters Denise Moorer, Jo-Anne Wills, Elizabeth Damelia, Janis O’Neill, step-sons Frank and Charles Smith, son-in-laws David Moorer and Steve Damelia., 7 grandchildren (Misty and Lyndsey, Ronnie and Tammy, Michael and Melissa, Gina) and 9 great grandchildren (Caden, Mya, Michaiah, Kaeden, Channing, Alyssa, One expected, Riley, JaeLynn) .
Mass will be held at 10AM, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Knights of Columbus 2112, 5727 Cornelia Ave., Orlando, FL 32807.
At a later date he will be interned at Bushnell National Cemetery with Military Honors.
