WILLIAM O. LINDHOLM, JR., 79
Bill Lindholm, 79, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away, Thursday, August 16, 2018, at his home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 25th at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1 Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, 32169.
Bill was born in 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to William O. (Lindy) and Sue Carey Lindholm. He graduated from New Trier High School (Chicago) in 1958 and from Sewanee: The University of the South in 1962. He joined the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity while at Sewanee. In 1963, he married the former Patricia Blount in Raleigh, North Carolina. They had two children: William O. (Billy) Lindholm, III and Karen Marie Lindholm. Bill later re-married the former Ursula Serafin in 1985 and gained four step-children: Gabrielle (Gabi) Lahr, Misha Lahr, Thomas Lahr, and Steve Serafin.
Bill loved people. He never met a stranger and saw the best in everybody. Women wanted to be with him, and men wanted to be him. He had an amazing sense of humor and delighted people in his story telling.
Bill also loved animals, and they loved him. He enjoyed his daily feeding of the birds, fish, and animals on his property and frequently took in stray cats. The morning bugling of sand hill cranes was a wake up call to all staying at the property.
Having a strong independent streak and wanting to live life on his own terms, Bill was an entrepreneur for over 40 years. He worked in the flooring industry and last served as President and Owner of Floors to Go. He previously had businesses in Atlanta, Ga., Orlando, Fl., and St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
Bill is survived by his wife Ursula of 33 years, daughter Karen McAninley, son Bill Lindholm, stepchildren Gabi Lahr, Thomas Lahr, and Steve Serafin, sister Sue Carey Lindholm, grandson Liam McAninley, and numerous extended family and friends. Bill was a loving and generous father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He will be greatly missed!
