Obituary

William (Bill) E. Loudon, 80, recently from Ormond Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in East Orange, NJ on August 30, 1940, the son of Eben and Dorothy Loudon.

Bill graduated from Union High School, Union NJ, Class of 1958. He attended Upsala College and later enlisted in the United States Army. He worked most of his life as a Deli Manager for Foodtown.

He served as County Commander of the Ocean County American Legion, and he was a lifetime member of the organization. In honor of his military experience and all who served, he founded the local Bear Creek Veteran’s Committee in the community where he and his wife, Dianne, resided.

Known and loved by all for his witty and sharp sense of humor, Bill couldn’t go anywhere without running into a friend. His family meant the world to him. He was an amazing man who provided and sacrificed so much for his family, especially through the most difficult of times. He will always be an inspiration to all who knew him.

Bill is predeceased by his parents, Eben and Dorothy. Bill is survived by his wife, Dianne; his daughter Lynda; two sons, James and his wife, Lisa, Scott and his wife, Kathleen; his stepchildren Kim, Kevin, and Michelle; nine grandchildren, Jake, Emily, David, Aiden, Sarah, Alyssa, Waylon, Brittany, and Alexis; one brother, Robert, and his wife, Christine; and nieces and nephews.

Those who wish to remember Bill may make contributions in his memory to The American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation or the Cancer Research Institute. All are welcome to join us for a celebration of Bill’s life on Saturday, August 7th from 1-4 PM at Bear Creek Clubhouse #2, 6 Bear Creek Path, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.

We will both miss his welcoming smile and wonderful humor. Even though we only got to share the holidays with Bill, we always enjoyed his company and our conversations together. Rest In Peace. We know you will be watching over your family❤️

The world lost a wonderful man the other day. 'Willy' always had a special place in my heart. I don't know what it was but we just got along so well. I was proud to call him my friend. I got to see him back in July 2017 when I went down to Fla. And when he was back up in Jersey he made it to my house for a BBQ June 2018. I was really lucky when he accidently dialed me last month. I got to talk with him one last time as he filled me in on everything. I am so glad I got that 'mistake' call. He will greatly be missed.
    Rest in Peace Willy.

RIP Uncle Bill. I bet when I get my chance in Heaven. I'll be late! I love how you always predicted how late Brian and I would be be any family gatherings.
