Obituary
William Patrick Meehan, Esquire 88 Passed away peacefully in his sleep December 23, 2020 due to complications of Cancer. He was the youngest son of Thomas Joseph Meehan and Margaret Callahan Meehan.
Bill was born in Columbus, Ohio December 3, 1932. He attended St. Mary Magdalen’s Grade School and Aquinas High School and was a graduate of Ohio State University.
He served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army of Occupation, station in Germany commanding Company C, 66th Army Tank Battalion, 2nd Armored Div from 1953 to 1956. After serving he attended OSU College of Law earning his Degree in 1959. Bill loved his 60 years Practicing Law, helping his clients both in Columbus and in Fort Myers, Florida. He gave charitable pro bono legal services to many in need throughout his career. He moved to Fort Myers in 1978.
Bill loved to travel with family. The family attended many ABA law Conventions in the US and abroad, many great alumni weekends to see the Buckeyes at the Horseshoe. He and the older kids cherish their memories of the Camper and swimming at BayPoint camp grounds at Marble Head, Sandusky Ohio on Lake Erie. Bill, Gulia and Martin will always remember our family dream trips to Ireland 2005 and Paris 2008.
In his leisure time, he loved to read or play euchre or chess with friends and family.
Bill was active in the community;
l Saint Cecilia’s Catholic parish – Over the years he served as usher, eucharistic minister and lecture.

Bill loved his Law Practice, but most of all he loved his family.
Surviving him is his wife, Gulia Ricketts (Borghese) Meehan of 46 years. His children, Todd Patrick, (Donna), Tonya M. Shaw (Darryl), Timothy M. (Terri), Terence ‘Terry’ (Jo A), Thomas, Tara, Tracey Gerardo (Jeffery). William Martin. His Step-children, Michael A. Borghese, Brent K. Borghese (Susan) Lisa M. Grimm (Larry).
Bill is preceded in death not only by his parents but all of his siblings Thomas (Jean), Jim (Betty living), John (Ann), Mary Davis (Russ) Sara Cumins (Bob)
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and grandchildren, Bryon (Elisabeth) Meehan, Anthony, Douglas (Margaret) Gautier. Taylie (David) Segal. William, Chelsea and Samantha Meehan. Timmy (Abbi) Meehan, Nathan Meehan, Corwin (Dana) Bickel, Elisabeth (Chris) Biggs. Ryan Joseph Grimm, Jason A. and Katelin R. Borghese. Ashley (Cory) Retherford. Tyler M. (Cheyenne) Meehan. Xavier & Aiden Gerardo.
Great Grandchildren are Madelyne Meehan, Elliot and Evan Gautier, Terence Matthew and Tatum Christopher Meehan, Elijah, Ginnifer Bickel, Calliope, Aveline, William and Amelia .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Fort Myers, Florida or the charity of choice. Memorial Service will be held after Covid 19 at Saint Cecilia.
I was hoping I would be having coffee with Bill with fond remembrances of Rob; instead I'm heartbroken twice . thank you so much for any help you can offer me and my deepest condolences to the Bill Meehan family. I would love to meet with a family member and have coffee and talk about this wonderful man ,whom I am sure both of them are in heaven right now . May God bless you.
I am so very sorry about the loss of Bill. He was such a wonderful man and will be sorely missed.
May he rest in peace with the Angels and the Saints and may God wrap His loving arms around you and give you comfort.
