William Robert Fisher, Jr. LCDR-USNRet (1924 - 2011) - Aviator, golfer, fisherman, storyteller, graduate of the US Naval Academy (Class of 1948) and received his masters from the University of North Carolina – all words that describe Bill, but the words that best define him are husband and father. Family and friends walked with him, hand in hand, during his illness to his final breath on this earth. He stood up to his illness with strength, dignity, and humor and though his body could no longer fight, his spirit never gave an inch. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Herdtfelder Fisher. They are blessed with four children, Jacqueline Dicks(Robert), Steven Fisher (Linda), Debra Fogg (Jay), and Patrick Fisher (Saundra) and twelve grandsons, Robert Dicks Jr, William Dicks, Ryan Vardeman, Kevin Fogg, Chris Fogg, Jonathan, Edward, Caelen, Colin, Kyle, Cameron, and Kody Fisher.
