Obituary

William “Bill” Russell Welliver, age 72, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023, at his winter residence in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Russell Welliver Jr. and Vivian (Loeb) Welliver.

Bill graduated from Olney High School in 1968, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Spring Garden College in 1972. He worked for 30 years at Air Products in Trexlertown, PA as a Senior Engineer. Technology consultant, inventor, program manager, and mechanical engineer, Bill was a curious and avid problem solver. With 9 patents for inventions improving the environmental impact of coal fired power plants, his contributions made an impact for generations to come. After retiring from Air Products, he was self-employed as an engineering consultant for Welliver & Company, LLC., until he decided to fully retire and pursue his passion: full-time beach bum.  Bill spent his summers in Ship Bottom, NJ, and his winters in Fort Myers, Florida. He loved to ride his bike, frequent outdoor music concerts (particularly oldies and island music), visit car shows, and relax in a comfy chair or hammock while enjoying the ocean breeze.

Bill is survived by his sons, Scott Welliver and his wife Michelle and Paul Welliver and his wife Lynn; grandchildren, Chase, Savannah, Hope, Leah and Brooke, his partner Marilyn Taylor and her daughter Meredith Taylor and Meredith’s husband, Michael Johnson.

A memorial service will be held on June 22, 2024, near his summer home on Long Beach Island, NJ. Please RSVP and find details forthcoming via billwelliver.com

Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society is handling arrangements.

So sorry to hear about Bill’s death. I have known his Mother Vivian since she was a young girl. His grandmother was my Aunt Jo. Thinking of Bill today as I am in New Haven and just spent time at light house. Muriel
