Obituary
William Clements Slease Jr. age 77 died of cancer on October 15, 2023.
William was born on April 23, 1946 to Rose and Bill Slease in Gary, Indiana. Bill was an adventurer. When he was 18 he joined the US Army, which he proudly served for 26 years. His first assignment was in Ethiopia where he met the late Emperor Haile Sellassie and was invited to the palace where he enjoyed a meal with him.
After Ethiopia he went to Chicago where he met his wife Pamela of 56 years over a bucket of hot buttered popcorn. He then went to Vietnam where he served under General Westmorland. During leave in Hawaii, he met Colonel Sanders who gave him cases of fried chicken to take back to the troops. The guys loved it.
He lived a charmed life living all over the world and retired as a first Sargent. He loved the finer things in life, but it was his wife and family that he appreciated most. He loved showing us the world and dancing under the stars with Pam. He loved pastries, food and most especially Sees pecan buds.
He fought a tough battle with cancer and his wife and family were there to care for him and be by his side till the end. He is on a new journey now and we hope he is having fun.
Bill is survived by his wife Pamela , Daughter Penelope Harju, Son William Slease third (Alice) and son Phillip Slease (Cheryl) and grandchildren Eric Harju, Hunter Slease and Maggie Slease.
