Obituary
William “Bill” Thomas O’Quinn, Junior, age 82, of Silver Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. Bill was predeceased by his mother Ruth F. O’Quinn and his sister Patricia O. Averill. Bill is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sula S. O’Quinn; his children Michelle Bunch, Lisa Hardee (Frank), and Louise Duffy (Jim); Sula’s children Barbara Davenport (Eric), Sandy Naselroad (Kelly), and Mack Windle as well as nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Bill was born in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Bishop Kenny High School. After serving in the U. S. Air Force 750th Radar Squadron, he worked as an industrial maintenance mechanic until his retirement.
Bill loved animals and being outside. Whether it was fishing, tending to plants, or simply reading a book he enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air. Never content to sit still, he was constantly on-the-go searching for a new fishing spot or a restaurant he heard about, even if hours away. It was also important to him to help others. In recent years, he would get up before dawn to wait in food distribution lines to get items and redistribute to those he knew could not drive and needed help.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of Marion County team for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Hospice provider, food bank, or other charitable organization.
