Obituary

William Timothy Herring (Tim), 63, passed away in his home on February 27, 2017 due to pancreatic cancer.  He was born March 15, 1953 to Dr. and Mrs. Howard and Hilda Herring.  He grew up in Pensacola. He resided in Daytona, FL where he practiced law.  He is survived by Victoria, his wife; his mother, Hilda Herring; four brothers, Richard Herring, Doug Herring, Jon Herring, and David Herring; his sister Faye Herring Kirk, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was a man well loved and enjoyed a life well lived.  He will be deeply missed.

No formal service or memorial will be held.  Tim requested that in lieu of flowers, please help preserve nature on his behalf by making a donation to the nature conservancy of your choice.

    I have fond memories of times with Tim during our High School and College days. I still tell the story of visiting Tim at FSU and being told to leave. Prayers for the Herring family.

    It seems like just yesterday that I was a young prosecutor and meeting Tim for the first time. He was one of the defense guys that had a bunch of experience. For us it was a challenge to win cases against guys like Tim. I soon learned something important about Tim... He liked to teach and mentor. He had a big heart and was quick to offer a guiding hand in this new arena. I grew to like him very much and to look forward to seeing him in private pretrial days when it was a race to beat him and Greg Johnson, Bob Eddington and a few others to the sign up sheet.... Yes indeed, he will be missed. A good guy until the end!!!!

    Tim is my brother in law and it has been an honor and privilege to be a part of his life for so many years. I will miss this truly good man. I love you Tim!

    My uncle was the most down to earth human I have ever met. He traveled around the world and became so cultured that he understood the meaning of life. Love you uncle tim

    I sincerely enjoyed practicing law with Tim.He always enjoyed life to the fullest as evidenced by the many travels and adventures he and Victoria shared. I always told him how I lived vicariously as he would describe their trips. Mary and I will surely miss our Halloween visits .Rest in peace my friend.

    Good memories with Tim at Pensacola beach. I remember the dog could get us a beer from the fridge. He beat me badly at poker. Lots of fun! The Patton family offers condolences.
