Obituary
It is with great sadness our beloved Yanni passed away unexpectedly at the age of 51 on Wednesday, July 13. 2022. Yanni was born in Boston, MA and moved to New Smyrna Beach as a young child and resided in Daytona Beach as an adult.
Yanni carried himself with a presence that was larger than life, it was always known when he was nearby. He was Jovial and positive and had a way of building-up those around him. His laugh and smile were infectious, as he genuinely loved to spend time with family and friends. Yanni had a heart of gold and was never shy to provide a helping hand. As a man with many talents, he was able to whip-up a meal while plotting his next venture. He enjoyed the hustle and was continuously working hard to better his life and those around him. Yanni would tell you, “Don’t be afraid to cry, it will free your mind from sorrowful thoughts.”
He is survived by his mother, Eleni Sigalas of New Smyrna Beach. He shared his life with his partner Tara Salvati and her children, Janine, Marissa, and Devon, and 4 grandchildren. His brother Kosta and wife Kelley, and their children and his sister Evangelia “Lisa”. Now he joins his father in heaven, Christos Giannakouros.
Funeral service will commence on Wednesday, July 20, 11:30 AM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral in New Smyrna Beach. Followed by a procession to Edgewater cemetery. A celebration of life to follow in New Smyrna Beach, all are welcome.

You were a deep feeling passionate man who left your heart everywhere you went. You impacted everyone on your path. And nobody on that path will ever forget the kind things you would do to help them with whatever they would need. I am so great full that I was able to have what little time I was granted by God to know and most definitely learn from you. Until our paths meet again. May you Rest In Peace my friend turned angel. Sincerely. Kelly Ann Green
