Obituary
Allie Ray Tanzler, 95, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away peacefully at her son’s residence on June 22, 2017. Allie was born in Nebo Kentucky to Oscar and Emma Jones Oakley and was one of 6 children. She was reborn spiritually when she gave her heart to the Lord, at age 94, on Good Friday, 2016. She was a registered nurse for 60 years which included being a traveling nurse to Iran, London and Alaska. She also served in the Navy which she joined while in nursing school. During her service she met her future husband Warren Tanzler. A life time learner, she earned her BS degree at age 78. She is survived by her son Mike Tanzler and his wife Cindy, whom she lived with for the last 16 years; her loving grandchildren Erin Rue, Chris Tanzler, and Tyler Tanzler, one very special great grandson Hunter Jackson, and her brother Kenneth Oakley and his wife Joyce. She will be laid to rest in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 11 am at The Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place. 1 N Causeway, New Smyrna, Florida 32169. It’s not good-bye, Mom, it’s see you later!
