Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society of Florida is proud to serve the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to serve our country. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers a variety of benefits to those who have served.
How to Apply for VA Memorial Benefits
In the event of the veteran’s death or the death of his or her spouse or dependent(s), family members should locate and gather the DD-214 or other discharge papers. After the paperwork is filed, the family should make arrangements with a funeral home or directly with a VA national cemetery. At the time of need, families simply fax the DD-214 form or other discharge papers to 1-866-900-6417 and follow up with a phone call to 1-800-535-1117.
VA Memorial Benefits
VA aims to take special care in paying lasting tribute to veterans’ memories who served and sacrificed. VA maintains 131 VA national cemeteries in 30 states and is adding new sites to accommodate veterans and loved ones in their time of need. VA is striving to provide burial options located within about an hour’s drive of the veteran’s home.
