Obituary

Life Celebration for Mary Pearl McEllen of New Smyrna Beach who died Thursday, October 7, 2010 will be 2PM Sunday, November 21 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach with The Reverend John Murray officiating.   Mary was born in Englewood, NJ  on January 9, 1919  to the late Katherine and Joseph Kaberle.  She was a graduate of Jersey City State Teachers College , Jersey City NJ . She taught elementary education in various school districts in New Jersey, her last position being in Teaneck , NJ.  She lived in Bergen County NJ for most of her life and  came to this area with her husband in 1988 from New Milford, NJ.  Mary was predeceased by her husband James in 2003. Her family remembers her enjoyment for gardening, reading, bingo, animals and basketball. She was an avid Orlando Magic Fan.   Mary loved living in her own condo at The Venetian and had many friends there.    She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Jamie (Ken) Nelson of New Smyrna Beach, FL.; son, Gregory (Barbara)  McEllen of Dumont, NJ.; grandchildren,  Meredith McEllen ( Ruben Ramirez), Matthew McEllen ( Deborah Hwang), Kristen Nelson ( Nick Culver), Terence McEllen and great grandchild Natalia Renee Ramirez. They will miss her dearly. Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Volusia Southeast Care Center 4140 South Ridgewood Avenue Edgewater FL 32141 or Southeast Volusia Humane Society 1200 Glencoe Road New Smyrna Beach FL 32168. 2:00 PM Sunday, November 21 at Baldwin Brothers Memorial Chapel 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169 (map/driving directions)

    We never got to meet you but felt we knew you so well through your daughter and son in law, Jamie and Ken. We know you will be so missed especiall by your grand daughter Kristin. Your life will be remembered with loved and happiness.
