Carter, Rose L. – Rose L. Carter, 87, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011. She was born January 7, 1924, in Newark, NJ to Edmund Logue and Rose Geppner. Rose obtained her nursing diploma from St. Michael's Hospital in Nov 1945, and was a career registered nurse. She moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1967, and then to New Smyrna Beach in 1989. She is survived by her son, Joseph Carter and wife Joan, and daughters, Janette Geldart and husband Michael, and Catherine Young and husband Joe, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her friends at the Brannon Center, and gardening at Christ Community Church New Smyrna Beach. She was past Vice-President of the Edgewater Shuffleboard Club, and a recipient of many medals at the NSB Senior Games.
A celebration of Rose’s life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 1210 Mission Drive, New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Council on Aging – New Smyrna Beach, Attn: Nicole, 105 Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.
