Bill was born November 22, 1946 in Bronx, New York, to William and Ellen (Devers) Finegan. He attended Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. He continued his education at New Paltz State University in New York graduating in 1968 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics. Drafted into the United States Air Force as an Officer in 1969 during the Vietnam War as a Weapons Controller. He was awarded the Bronze Star for saving the lives of many soldiers, Captain Finegan was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1972.William continued his serve to his country by working 32 years as a FAA Air Traffic Controller. He met and married his wife Patti in 1976 while living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Together they had three children, Andrew, Kenneth, and Suzanne. He was a dedicated family man who always lived his life by doing everything the right way. Always a kid at heart he spent his retirement by enjoying his sports cars, model trains, golf outings ,flying, Sci Fi collectables, movies, and computer games. But most of all he lived for his family and always loved spending time with them. Bill was a very loving and had the kindest heart, a true role model for all. His actions always spoke for themselves. We will all mourn the loss of such a great man and at the same time celebrate his life by living our lives to their fullest. Bill always wanted everyone to take time and having a little fun. We will always remember and honor him by doing just that. It's what he would've wanted us to do. Bill is survived by his wife, Patti; three children, Andrew, Kenneth and Suzanne; granddaughter, Ava; brother, Bryan; niece, Addy and nephew, Kevin.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7PM, Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Winter Park Chapel, 301 W. New England Avenue, Winter Park.
