Douglas A. Picozzi , 51, of Winter Park, Florida and former resident of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio died unexpectedly on February 12, 2014.
Doug was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 23rd 1962, and moved to New Smyrna Beach when he was in Middle School. He worked in various family owned restaurants throughout the years in both Ohio and New Smyrna Beach.
He attended Daytona Beach Community College and was a gifted photographer who enjoyed his craft. Most recently, he worked for Goodwill Industries in the Orlando, Florida area.
Doug was fond of antiques, collectibles, and spending time at the beach.
He was charming, witty, and enterprising, with a contagious enthusiasm.
You could always count on Doug to transform a tired looking room into an amazing new shabby chic décor.
He had many longtime friends whom were a lot more like an extended family.
News of his passing has been a shock to many and he will be missed very much.
He is survived by, his mother Nancy, brother David, sister Debbie, nephew Ben,
uncle, Bill Picozzi (Elaine), and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Picozzi.
The family is planning a gathering in Ohio, to remember Doug, with family and friends, at the Lawrence Saltis Plaza, 3rd floor Community Room located at 3000 Graham Road, Stow, Ohio 44224; to be held on Sunday March 23, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
