RAMSEY, CATHERINE Virginia Catherine Davis was born on October 2, 1922, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and died December 6, 2014. She married Jerrel Lee Musick in 1939 and had a son, Bennett Lee Musick, in 1940. Jerrel was killed in action as a Marine in WWII at Iwo Jima in 1945. Catherine and Bennett moved to Orlando with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John C. Davis in 1946. She worked in the public schools at Cherokee and Howard Junior High Schools for many years. She served as President of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the State of Florida in 1958-59. Catherine married Jack Eller Ramsey in 1961 and had a second son, John Wayne Ramsey, who was born in Alaska in 1962. The Ramsey family even lived in rural Bethel, Alaska, for 2 years. Jack died of cancer in 1985. Catherine became a licensed practical nurse to care for her ailing parents, John C. and Maude Davis before their deaths. Later, she went back to college and graduated from Rollins College with honors. Her last full time job was working for Manheim Auto Auction in Ocoee for 25 years, retiring at age 88. Cat, as she was known, was a active member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando and she sang for a number of years in the Singing Christmas Trees performances. She also went on several mission trips with the choir. She was an avid supporter of the Russell Home for Atypical Children and even arranged for several of the clients to attend the Singing Christmas Trees show. In addition to her sons, Bennett and John, she is survived by a grandson, Travis, his wife and daughter. Catherine is also survived by a sister, Ruby Bellamy, in Kingsport, Tennessee. Her wishes were that there be no services. Remember her family in your thoughts and prayers.
