Obituary

Dudley C. Hayward, 79, of Edgewater, FL died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Florida Hospital in New Smyrna Beach, FL.  He was born February 1, 1937 in New Britain, CT the son of the late Arthur P. and Mildred I. (Weare) Hayward. He was an officer in the banking industry for many years and moved to Florida in October of 1999.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge.  He was very active in genealogy research, was an avid reader, and enjoyed camping, and gardening.  He also loved to travel and was a member of P.O.R.T., Inc. in Port Orange, FL. He was dedicated to his family and most proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He leaves his wife, Sandra J. (Allard) Hayward of Edgewater, FL; and four daughters and their husbands: Dawn Valentini and her husband, John of Wethersfield, CT;  Karen Clancy and her husband, Brian of Newington, CT;  Robyn Muir and her husband, David of Newington, CT and Suzanne Costanzo and her husband, Paul of Burlington, CT. He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn and her husband Robert. He also leaves two siblings; Brad Hayward and his wife Linda, and Marlene Calderone and her husband Jim; 12 grandchildren, 3+ great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA  02114. Burial will be private.

    I was so sorry to hear of Dudley"s passing. Our children grew up together in Wethersfield and our daughters Lori and Beemer were back and forth between our homes all through their school years. So many good memories. Our deepest sympathy.
