Obituary
Joan Lohmann of Daytona Beach passed away on May 20, 2017. She was 89 years old and had been fighting colon cancer. She was born on September 23, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, to Fred N. Garret Jr. and Anne Hassler Garrett. She worked as a bank teller in New York where she met World War II veteran Albert Lohmann, Jr., whom she married in 1947. Joan enjoyed reading, going to the beach, volunteering at the Epiphany Thrift Store and spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1976 and is survived by daughter Carol (Bob) Pringle of Ormond Beach, FL, daughter Linde Dillard (Andre Pounds) of Denver, CO, and daughter Nancy (Bob, deceased) DeAlto of Highland Lakes, NJ; grandsons Tom Cargill (Sherena Williams) and Nick DeAlto (Melissa Tadiello) and granddaughters Danielle DeAlto (Kyle Everett) and Jordan Pounds.
In lieu of a formal service, the family will scatter her ashes at a later date. Donations may be made to God’s Little Angels (Mary Barrs) at Suntrust Bank, 200 South Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
It is almost Christmas and we all miss you so much!! So much has happened in the last few months that we would like to share. Hopefully you already know what is going on it our lives. We know you are still around us.

We miss you so much! Our lives are not the same without you. Hope you are still watching over everyone and sharing in our lives. You were a wonderful mother and grandmother. We had a fantastic childhood and life because of you and dad. Thank you for setting a good example. The people we have become are your doing. We will always love you.
