Richard Allen Couture (Cooch) 69 years old of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully on June 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife, children and brother, after losing his battle to COPD. He was born on September 20th at the Mary Fletcher Hospital, (UVM Medical Center) in Burlington, Vermont. He was a graduate of Burlington High School class of ’68. While in Vermont he enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golf, coaching his children’s little league teams and running whiffle ball tournaments. He had a real zest for life but what he thought most important was the three beautiful children he and Peggy raised together. Richard and Peggy moved to The Villages 10 years ago to enjoy life and their retirement, an area often referred to as Disneyland for the adults. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 51 years Peggy, their daughters and husbands Tess & Bill Pretty, Shawntel & Todd Burke, their son and his wife Richard & Jodie Couture. He leaves his grandchildren Elisha & husband Jon, Katelynn, Billy, Alyssa, Nikolas, Chelsea & husband Cody, Cassidy, Jordan, Madison and great-grandchildren Brody, Wyatt, Logan and Lilly. Hugs to you all for treating your patient and us with respect and love as if he were your own. You are the angels Richard and family needed in his final fight. God Bless you!
Per his request there will be no visiting hours or services. Private family services will be held at a later date in Vermont.
Kids are here for me. We were a lucky couple that loved each other for so long and I'll love you forever! Till we meet again, Lover man!
We are so sorry for your loss. You and Dick were such a great example of young love. To be married at such young ages and to make that marriage work for 51 years is such a tribute to you. You both raised three great kids. They have always been respectful and always there for both of you. That is a major accomplishment! Our thoughts are with you and your family.
Tess, Shawntel and Richie,
We am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was very proud of all of you.
