Obituary
Dorothy Janice Rembis, 83, passed away peacefully at home with her family on June 30. A native of Methuen, Massachusetts, she had been a resident of Florida since 1966. She met the love of her life, Ron, when she was in eighth grade, later married and had three adoring daughters.
Prior to moving to Florida she worked for the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC with secret clearance at the Pentagon. Mrs. Rembis retired after working for 27 years at AMI, American Motorcycle Institute, as assistant to the Director of Education. Throughout the years she received numerous accolades for her admirable dedication to her work. Lovingly known to her friends as Dottie, she had a fun-loving and contagious sense of humor, a deep passion for animals, and a true compassion for taking care of others. She supported her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Dottie was always smiling and radiated happiness. She enjoyed time with friends, boating, and was an avid bingo player, but her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her loving family. Dottie attended the Catholic Church of the Epiphany.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Ronald, loving daughters, Karen (Scott) McGregor of Winter Garden, Cindy Rembis of Ormond Beach, and Kimberly (Timothy) Adair of Port Orange and her much adored grandchildren Kristin Grass, Shannon McGregor, Blake Grass, Brooke McGregor and Cameryn McGregor.
The family will celebrate her life with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette St., Port Orange on Thursday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest following the Mass at a private ceremony for family only at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
God Bless family.
