Obituary

Harry Madine, 78, of The Villages, FL passed away on September 17, 2019.  He was born on May 18, 1941 in New York City to Harry and Catherine Madine.  Harry proudly served 4 years in the United States Navy.  He was a journeyman lineman with Con Edison for 4 years and a foreman at Public Service Power and Light Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he worked for 34 years.  He moved to The Villages, FL to enjoy retirement life, playing golf, and salt water fishing in his Bass Tracker boat.  He belonged to the computer club, and photography club. He had a real passion for photography.  At age 14 he had built a dark room to develop photos from his weekend adventures while riding his bike around Manhattan.  He would take pictures of buildings, bridges, people and scenic Central Park. In The Villages, family, friends and The Villages life style became his new photography projects.

He is survived by his loving wife Elaine of 56 years; sons, Ken (Becky), Jeff (Jennifer); grandchildren, Meaghan, Courtney, Olivia, Morgan and Ryan; great granddaughter Stella; brother, Lawrence; sisters, Connie and Sherry and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his son Anthony; brothers, Jim and Mike, and sisters Helen and Kathy.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday September 22, 2019 at Pimilico Recreation Center from 11:30 – 3:00 PM in The Villages.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
