Obituary

Carolyn Dill Foster, age 99, passed away peacefully in Fort Myers on New Year’s Eve 2019.  Carolyn is predeceased by her Mother, Clara G. Dill, Father, William L. Dill, and her seven siblings.

Born in Patterson, New Jersey on March 4th, 1920 Carolyn graduated from Briarcliff Junior College, was later married, and resided in Milwaukee Wisconsin for over 25 years.  In 1974 Carolyn moved to Sanibel Island, becoming a member of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.  With an outgoing warm personality, quick wit, and a sense of style extraordinaire, Carolyn was a natural as Receptionist / Secretary in the business community, and so thoroughly enjoyed the Island lifestyle and all that it encompassed for many years.

Volunteering after a move over the Causeway at the Lee Memorial Hospital was a joy that kept her active for 25 years.  However, as all know, Carolyn’s greatest love was her family.  Being involved from rattles to cars, college to career moves with her children, and grandchildren, brought her the most joy.

A true lady in every way, she will be greatly missed by her loving family. Daughters Joan Bratz (Milt) of New Hampshire, Nancy duPont of Fort Myers, and son, Dean Foster (Marge) of Naples. Grandchildren: Evan duPont, Connor duPont, William duPont, Jeffrey Bratz, David Bratz, Leslie Bratz, John Foster, James Foster, and newly welcomed in 2019, great grandchildren:  Alexander and Caspian.

Carolyn’s life was blessed with very special friends.  These friends will always have a special place in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.  We thank you for your love and friendship you bestowed on Mom.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel Island, on February 29th at 11:00 in the morning.  A reception will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.  Carolyn loved her dog, Tommy, and the family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers, or CROW of Sanibel.
