Obituary

Barbara Miller of The Villages, passed away surrounded by her family, on Thursday, April 2, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.
Barb was born in Allentown, PA on her father’s birthday to Ruth and Charles Schlener. She was the loving wife of Roy who predeceased her in 2013. She adored her two daughters, Tami Streib of Fredericksburg, VA and Wendy Chiaravalloti of Acworth, GA. She was known as GranBarb to her 5 grandchildren: Rachel, Zachary, Emily, Matthew, and Molly.
Barb was the big sister to Jeffrey Schlener, Linda Bystrom, Sally Gilbert (predeceased her in 2013), Better Marsteller and Robin Lysek.
Barb retired as an executive at PPL. She grew up and lived in Allentown, PA and then found her happy place in her retirement years in The Villages, FL. She was loved by her many friends. She learned how to play golf and even had a hole in one! Her calendar was full of game nights, luncheons, parties, crafting and ushering at The Sharon Morse Performing Arts Center and The Studio.
Barbara lived life to the fullest. Spending time with family was a priority for her. She said life was an adventure and was always planning the next one. She always loved us more.
Services are at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts in Barbara’s name may be sent to The Villages Charter Schools, Fine Arts Department. Mailing address: The Villages Charter School, Central office, 350 Tatonka Terrace, The Villages, 32162. Attention Dr. McDaniel. Online Condolences may be said at www.baldwincremation.com.

Hi Barb, I ran across some things you wrote to me on facebook today. I still can't believe you have moved on to a new life. I do hope you are having a blast with Roy and all those you love who have gone before you. You are such an awesome lady and I had the pleasure of working with you and also having you as a friend. You have beautiful children and grand children who love you so much. I so enjoyed all the pictures you shared of adventures you took with family. I wish you blessings in your new life. I do believe in the hereafter so I know I will see you again. Until then enjoy your new life and peace be with you always. Pauline

My dear friend, Barb......I miss you so much. You were so special to your family and friends. You and Roy were our friends for fifty years. So many fun times together as former neighbors. We were like family to each other. Barb, give Roy a hug for us and you will always have my hugs. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Tami and Wendy.

    To the Family,
I have such wonderful memories of Barb. She was a special friend and family meant everything to her - she was so proud of you all. May memories of your mother/grandmother bring peace to your heart, strength in difficult times and always a smile to your face.

    Barb,

Your life lifted my life! We shared so much -- happy times, sad times, travel times, dinner times! We had adventures! You were so loved, and you will be so missed. Our "core group" now has an empty chair that will always be honored as your place along side us! Rest in peace, beloved friend!

Barb, you left us way too soon. God must have needed you more than we do. You were the kind of friend and neighbor that everyone could have hoped to have. If anyone needed something, you were right there to help out. You loved to cook and entertain, and share your great recipes. You got me “hooked” on card crafting and shared your crafting talents with anyone who was interested. You were the consummate mother and grandmother, and so proud of your family. I will truly miss you. Rest In Peace, Barb. I’m sure that Roy was there to greet you...❤️
