Obituary
Ray “R.D.” DeMont McGregor III, 67, formerly of Middlesboro, passed away peacefully in his home in Florida, surrounded by his wife and children after a short battle with cancer. R.D. was born in Zanesville, Ohio October 8, 1952 and lived in Ohio until 1979 when he moved to Middlesboro to open Cumberland Gap Provisions with his father and sister. The 29 years he spent working there were some of his proudest. Anyone who knew R.D. knew he was an avid fan of Ohio State sports, and the Cincinnati Reds. He attended the Red’s season opener for 25 consecutive years.
R.D. is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debbie, his children Amanda Cejka (Brian) of Dallas, Texas, Jason Miller (Amy) of Fostoria, Ohio, Mykel Resino (Frank) of San Diego, California, and Abby McGregor of Boston, Massachusetts and his 8 grandchildren. He’s also survived by his father and sister, Ray McGregor and Christy McGregor Maiden (Anthony) of Middlesboro. He is preceded in death by his mother Rosemary Woodward McGregor, his brother Matthew McGregor, and his son Shawn McGregor.
A private memorial for family will be held at a later date.
