Obituary
Kenney, Patrick Joseph, 68, of Cape Coral, Florida, closed his eyes to this world on July 8, 2020. Pat was the oldest child of George Kenney and Eleanor Arno. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Arno, who lovingly called him Patty Jo, and siblings, Colleen (Stephen) Tredway, Kerry (Tracy) Kenney, and Erin (Brent) Labreche. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pat was born on September 12, 1951 in Latrobe, PA. His family moved to Fort Myers in 1965. He graduated from Bishop Verot High School and went to work as a draftsman for Sprint, where he worked until his retirement. He lived with his mother in her home in Cape Coral since 1980.
Pat loved his dogs and cars. He is home now with his beloved dog, Tyler, pictured in the photo above. He was outgoing, friendly, funny, generous, and compassionate. He had the ability to draw people together with gossip, jokes and laughter. There was never a secret with Pat, and he always said what he meant and meant what he said. He was our one in a million and will be dearly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church on July 29, at 10:00am, with Celebrant Father Hugh. Graveside inurnment will follow in the Church garden. Family and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to Lee County Domestic Animal Services, 5600 Banner Dr., Ft. Myers, FL, 33912.

He made life and work so much more enjoyable. He was kind, considerate, and had your back. I also worked with Eleanor, who was a lifelong employee. Pat, I hope you will forgive me for not knowing this. The Shadle & Reed family love you.
I miss you so much!!
Take care of mommy
Love,
Erin
You have reached your final rest. You wept daily on many many topics. You asked me to write about your loneliness and despair every day. Tyler was your “baby boy” and yet your family, and each of them, “didn’t get it.” You told me you were not accepted and called names by those closest to you...”I might as well be an only child.” You prayed for the Lord to call you home. He heard your plea and He comforts you and Tyler in the glory of Heaven. Your friendships, generosity and tenderness are your legacy. I miss you and I will see you again...dear friend.
