Obituary
Byron Kent Marshall passed peacefully in his home in The Villages, Florida on September 4, 2021, at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
He and his wife Sara lived in Chanute, Kansas before moving to The Villages. They have two children, Byron Jr/ Deanna, and Julie/ Mel Grindol both of Kansas. Byron is also survived by his sisters, Bev Worster and Ramona Richardson, grandsons Rand, Carter and Brady plus many nieces and nephews.
Byron was a Clinical Pharmacist in Kansas before he retired. He was a huge KU fan who loved his friends, Parrotheads and Central States, golf, bridge, traveling, reading, and hunting. Byron had a great life and he wanted to thank everyone who was a part of it.
A celebration of Byron’s life will be held at a later date in Kansas and The Villages.

Byron lived at Pearson Scholarship Hall during his years at Kansas University (KU) as an undergrad. On Saturday, May 4, 2013 seven "Pearsonites" gathered at the Hall for an informal reunion. The photo shows us near its front door, with Byron second from the left.
He and Sara were living in Kansas City at the time. Some of us had traveled non-trivial distances to attend, and in his typical gregarious fashion Byron invited us to spend Friday evening (and overnight) at his home. Looking back to the reunion and - further - to the years at KU, I remember Byron as one of the most personable guys I have known.

This is the kind, caring man with a compassion for life, the love for family and friends. This is how I will remember Byron.
He set an example for me that I will strive to live up to for the rest of my days.
A picture of one of the many great times we had playing golf in Kansas with Byron’s many friends. He was always smiling. This photo is left to right, Byron, Gary, Dick, and Bob. We played many courses and Byron often won with his long drives.
Just an example of the kind of person that Byron was. He loved to do things together. I think he mowed my yard more than I did. We had great fun doing it together. He was the kind of person that just loved helping others. A kind, warm, and giving person that never met a stranger.
I remember Byron for his great sense of humor, his love of others, his desire to help anyone and everyone. We had such great times in Kansas and after our move to the Villages in Florida. So many rounds of golf and great drinks and friendship on the 19th hole. Our dancing at the town center squares and all the clubs in which we participated. It has been the golden years for both of us. I feel so blessed to have shared them with Byron. His memory brings tears to my eyes. They are tears of thanks for the time and fun that we shared. He will be missed but always in my thoughts, my memory, and my heart.
