Obituary

It is with love that we mourn the passing of Marty Jewell Nantz, who was called home on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021. Marty was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Marty will be remembered by his wife, Barbara Nantz; four daughters, Velvet (Will) Scott, Serina (Cody) Betts, Fallon (Jason) Nantz/Huston, Candace (Tim) Plunkett; twelve grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charles (Cindy) Nantz, (Linda) Nantz, Rex Nantz, Patricia (Oatis) Miller and Sandra Nantz.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Flora Nantz and two brothers, Kenny and Roger Nantz.

He was born Oct 4th, 1955 in Corbin, Kentucky. He grew up in the mountains of Kentucky as a coal miner. He attended Cumberland College, then met the love of his life. After starting a family they moved to Florida and started trucking to later open his own excavating company.

Marty was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who always put his family first. He will live in our hearts and memories forever.

A service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Sonshine Worship Center, 12925 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33905. A reception will follow. All friends and family are invited.

    Prayers for the Nantz family. I was honored to have known him, I LOVED sitting and gabbing with him at the DR office. He was so thoughtful and caring, would remember to bring meat after his hunts for my family. May his legacy live on through his family and friends and every story told.
