Obituary

Gertrude Ann (Nutt) Wade, age 77, died after a battle with lung cancer on February 10, 2022, in Port Orange, FL.
She is survived by her husband of 50 wonderful years Frank Wade Sr; her son Matthew Wade and his wife Amy of Titusville, FL, and her grandchildren Tristen and Alyssea. She was predeceased by her son Robert; and her sisters Dorothy Alcott, Cynthia Wilson, and Shirly Jean Nolan.
Gertrude was born on January 13, 1945 in Boston, MA, to parents of the late Alfred and Vera (Twombley) Nutt, of Lexington, MA. Gertrude moved to New Hampshire where she raised her family with her beloved husband. They were residents of Milford, NH for most of their adult lives.
Gertrude was known as Aunt Trudy to her nieces and nephews, and known as Ann by her many friends.
She worked for Sanders Lockheed as a Production Supervisor in Nashua and Merrimack, NH for many years. Gertrude was very active with the senior community volunteering at the Nashua Senior Center, delivering for Meals on Wheels, and involved in managing a Shoe Club at Alex’s Shoe Store on Main Street in Nashua, NH.
Gertrude had a talent for cross stitching, knitting, and chocolate making. Many will remember well her ‘famous’ peanut butter cups. You could often find her at the local Bingo Hall except when WWE was on. Gertrude played an important role in her grandchildren’s lives and upheld her tradition of taking them to Dr. Davis Ice Cream in Pepperell, MA on the last day of school every year starting with kindergarten until they graduated high school.
Gertrude will be laid to rest in Nashua, NH at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in her memory.
