Obituary
Louis “Louie” Frank Cantafio, 66, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL surrounded by his loving family. Louie was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on July 6, 1955, grew up in Milford, CT and graduated from Jonathan Law High School.
Louie trained as an HVAC Technician, and subsequently relocated to California working for Johnson Controls as well as other companies. There he built a life for himself, married and had four children, Virginia, Frank Louis (deceased), Frances and Phyllis. He loved cars – Vettes, Trans Ams, and all auto racing. Later in life, he relocated to North Carolina working as an apartment manager and then moved to Florida.
He is veteran of the US Marine Corp, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2531, the American Legion #0017 and the Marine Veterans Motorcycle Club.
Louie was predeceased by his father, Louis Frank Cantafio, Sr, his mother, Phyllis (Giliberti) Cantafio and his son, Frank Louis.
He is survived by his three daughters, Virginia Cantafio, Frances Cantafio and Phyllis Cantafio, his ex-wife Ana Virginia Cantafio, his sisters, Lucy Pauley (Mark), Frances Baker (Ronnie Sciullo), Phyllis Cantafio, three grandchildren Michael Angelo (Virginia), Mariella (Virginia) and Travon Jamal “TJ” McWilliams, Jr. (Frances) and his fiancé, Karen Abrahamson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends who he considered as family.
Louie is dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 4:00pm at the United Church of Christ of New Smyrna Beach, 203 Washington Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.
