Obituary
On March 6, 2022, Richard “Dick” Jacobs passed on to the next Tee Time. Dick was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1935 and grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts. After meeting his wife of 65 years, Susan, they raised a family of 4 in Pittsford, New York. Their family grew through the years – 11 grandchildren and still growing with upcoming nuptials. All the children and grandchildren love The Villages experience introduced to them by Dad/Grandpa 18 years ago on the 8th green of the Beaumont golf course.
Dick was a self-proclaimed ‘Head Superintendent’ who loved the game as much as meeting new friends, fellow golfers and making sure that the irrigation system was running properly.
He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing 6 days a week with whomever. His philosophy was that it did not matter whether you were a beginner or scratch golfer; his joy came from being on the course.
Many thought of him as the neighborhood “Mr. Fix-it;” his golf buddies always came by for grip repair and steering wheel covers (if you need one, stop over).
A fantastic 45-year career with the same company made the retirement dream a reality.
He left this earth peacefully with his family surrounding him in love, prayer, and 5 hole-in-ones!
