Obituary
David Christopher Syers, age 71, passed away after an intense battle with cancer on March 27, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home in Morriston, Fl, surrounded by family.
David is survived by his Partner in Life, Valerie Frederick, of Morriston, Fl, as well as his children and grandchildren; son, Dr.Vincent Syers, MD and wife Alma of Elizabethtown, KY, and their children, Vera and Lena; his daughter, Pamela Bates and husband Pastor Woody of Seaford, DE, and their children, Woody, Aiden, Myla and Dallas; his daughter Elizabeth Hoover and husband Alex of Post Falls, ID, and children, Nicolaas, Arabella and Ludavine; and daughter, Erica Grace and husband Scott of Marlton, NJ, and son Ryan.
David is preceded in death by his parents John and Cynthia, his brothers Mark and John Patrick of Ewing, NJ, and granddaughter, Sakura Hoover, of Post Falls, ID.
David was born on February 3, 1951 in Washingtons Crossing, NJ. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, but then began a career in law enforcement. Several years later he returned to his passion for art as a crime scene artist and graphic designer.
David was a great family man and a loving father. He married Carole Coceano, and together they had four children. Sometime later after a divorce, he met his Life Partner, Valerie, who he spent sixteen happy years with until his death.
He was a social, active man who was deeply involved in church for much of his life as a Deaf Interpreter, Children’s Church Teacher, and a Nursing Home Minister. He enjoyed his dogs and horses, fishing, guns and hunting.
A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Baptist Church in Romeo, FL; date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
